Quality Assurance Representative
Fort Worth, Texas

Salary rate: $32.00 - $37.00 hourly, DOE

Position Summary

Tactical Air is currently seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Representative for our Fort Worth location. Under general supervision, the QA Representative will monitor and evaluate all processes and procedures of the shipping and receiving tasks in accordance with local SOP's and ISO standards. Assist MRO with salvage efforts and QA all parts and maintenance processes. Ensure all tasks are accomplished according to applicable TO's and publications. Quality, safety, training, and standardization will be the responsibility of the Quality Assurance Representative.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor contract compliance by all logistics / maintenance activities through the audit and surveillance requirements as defined in the QMS.
  • Perform final inspections of all actions involving salvage and shipping.
  • Investigate safety incidents and assist in preparation of Engineering Investigation Request, Quality Deficiency Reports, Hazardous Material Reports, Technical Publications Deficiency Reports, and Explosive Mishap Reporting as required.
  • Review applicable maintenance forms and deficiency data to determine discrepancy trends and specific problem areas.
  • Assist in drafting and development of work instructions, maintenance instructions, local maintenance requirement cards, and routine and continuing correspondence to all work centers detailing maintenance and program procedures and requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with and monitor all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility, and job assignment.
  • Ensure safety, security, and preservation of all equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of U.S. military aircraft mechanic and/or airframe courses and/or FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) technical school.
  • Eight years of experience in general aircraft maintenance, OR equivalent combination of training, education, and experience in a relevant field or industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DCMA INST 8210.
  • Knowledgeable of QA procedures, applicable safety manuals, and applicable maintenance or technical manuals and publications, technical directives, safety procedures, ground support equipment, and special tools.
  • Ability to research, read, and interpret aircraft drawings.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance.

Desired Experience/Skills

  • FAA A&P License
  • Familiarity or experience with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) federal contractors and the aerospace, defense, or commercial aviation industry.

Physical Demands

  • Requires physical movements and postures normally associated with an airport hangar/shop/flightline environment.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds (with assistance, if required).
  • Regularly ascend/descend stairs and/or ladders.

Work Authorization and Environment

  • Must be lawfully eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
  • Tactical Air Support is a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace. Pre-employment, random, or for cause drug/alcohol testing (including for marijuana) required.
  • Occasional aircraft hangar or warehouse environment with exposure to loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, unpredictable climate (hot/cold), and electrical shock, or trip or slip hazards.
  • May be exposed to or required to handle hazardous materials.
  • May be required to wear protective clothing, a respirator or other safety equipment.
  • May be required to interpret Material Safety Data Sheets and handle hazardous materials and chemicals.
  • Specific work hours determined by operational, departmental, or contractual requirements.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be required.
  • Occasional travel to various work sites throughout the U.S. may be required.
