Job Description

Position Purpose

This position will assist in the development of new programs and services associated with Renown Regional Medical Center and the Institute for Neurosciences.

Nature and Scope

This position shares responsibility for administering all aspects of the neurosciences/Stroke program. The position is accountable for attaining a comprehensive clinical program(s) to include Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, Neuromuscular, Parkinson's, etc.

The position will have the following responsibilities:

The Program Manager is responsible for assuring all neurosciences/stroke center standards are met as required by the Joint Commission and meet center of excellence (COE) designation by meeting the standardized set of ten performance measures for stroke patient care. The position is responsible for the coordination of the quality assurance process, program development, planning, organizing, implementation, assessment, patient flow and performance improvement of the service line. The position is also responsible for utilization, community outreach, patient advocacy, staff and physician education and marketing communications.

* Will independently serve as the primary focal point aligning the clinical, educational, educational/outreach, and QA/QI initiatives with the strategic mission/goals and objects of the program.

* Provide for patients and their families care, as needed, by utilizing resources efficiently and effectively, including acting as a clinical liaison between physicians, clinical coordinators, and administrative staff.

* Responsible for coordinating and managing a comprehensive, high quality, The Joint Commission certified stroke center.

* Facilitate The Joint Commission survey activities, including tracers, chart audits, and performance improvement initiatives to ensure quality and regulatory compliance for the stroke program.

* Monitor and perform data collection /chart review for reporting purposes.

* Maintain stroke dashboard

* Concurrent and retrospective chart review to meet core measure compliance and documentation issues.

* Analyze and evaluate data to promote stroke program effectiveness.

* Utilize data to develop processes that address opportunities for improvement and serves as a team leader to implement change, i.e., ER flow chart for Code Stroke process.

* Effective liaison to the medical, nursing, and ancillary staff.

* Promote educational opportunities for the community as well as collaboration with the stroke related agencies.

This position performs other tasks related to research and neurosciences activities, as assigned.

This position does not provide direct patient care.

Description

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. A bachelor's degree in nursing is required or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree. Master's degree highly preferred.

Experience:

Two years clinical experience is required.

License(s):

iAbility to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license.

Certification(s):

None

Computer / Typing:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
