Job Description
Description

When you work at Trex, you're helping to grow and enhance a true original. You join a company that boldly launched an entire industry... and still leads the way.

We are looking for a Process Engineer II to help us meet production and quality goals. As a Trex Process Engineer, you'll ensure plant processes, equipment and procedures are improved through process experiments and monitored production activity. You'll be responsible for the optimal operation of manufacturing lines and equipment, and you will follow up, recommend and implement new processes and equipment based on evidence. This role is key member of our Engineering team.

Our operations team is guided by five beliefs: 1. We put people first; 2. We all operate on the same page; 3. We own it; 4. We are always tuned for success; and 5. We make dynamic decisions. It's how we started, and how we continue to lead the industry-finding intersections of opportunity and hard work, digging in, and digging deep. The result is progress, both for the company and for the people building their careers here. If you are values driven and share our beliefs, if you are willing to hold yourself and others accountable to the highest standards, then Trex is a place you can call home.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Put safety first - always.
  • Work as a team to drive our "people first" culture.
  • Develop processes and procedures for the function of plant equipment required in manufacturing. Establish and maintain the required operating parameters based on data and best practices with minimal supervision from the supervisor.
  • Provide technical assistance to the Production Supervisors, Process Technicians and Maintenance to solve problems and to optimize the operation.
  • Assume responsibility for the proper operation of the manufacturing lines and coordinate the repair and/or replacement of these pieces of equipment.
  • Communicate project and process status with weekly reports to the Process Engineering Manager.
  • Recommend capital projects based on a cost/benefit analysis and the intended production impact.
  • Build scopes, collect quotes, and execute small capital projects.
  • Provide problem-solving skills to address process, equipment, materials, quality and environmental health and safety issues.

EXPERIENCE

A bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and a working knowledge of problem-solving techniques is required for this role. Project management experience is preferred. If you're a strategic thinker with superior analytical and problem-solving skills, able to organize and inspire a wide variety of personalities and disciplines and are comfortable embracing change and the ability to pivot with positive energy, we want to hear from you!

At Trex, we believe in persevering even when there's not a road map, embracing groundbreaking as a way of life. We encourage multiple perspectives and welcome diverse people who problem-solve, adapt and innovate-always with a firm foundation in safety and integrity.
