SUMMARY:
The Supervisor Mill is responsible for safely, ecologically and economically producing quality raw granules for headlap shipping and the coloring plant, as well as back surfacing for the undersize material processing plant shipping in order to meet internal and external customer's needs. Be a role model for safety, while driving a continuous improvement culture. Manage costs at the lowest possible level while producing the quantity and quality of granules on-time and according to the production plan
SHIFT: 11:00PM-7:00AM (Position eligible for shift differential pay and overtime)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Ensure safety, quality, production and housekeeping standards are met at all times
Conduct contactor safety inspections per SGI policy
Lead and manage assigned production personnel to safely meet/exceed all manufacturing goals
Develop and improve assigned production personnel skills in preparation for future career opportunities
Know and understand all product specifications for primary/mill/intermediate/HLP/UMPP
Clearly understand the process and equipment locations
Conduct root cause analysis to identify and correct the root causes of events, as opposed to simply addressing their symptoms.
Accurately and timely prepare required reports and maintain accurate data and other records as required
Schedule/plan manpower and production schedules
Effectively communicate maintenance needs with maintenance supervisors, maintenance manager, production supervisors and operations manager
Notification of downtime to management with clear/detailed explanation of issues as required
Write clearly defined work orders and develop SOP's for department
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings using Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement and problem solving techniques where applicable

Working Conditions: Work is performed in enclosed facilities and outdoor areas where extremes of heat, cold, dust, noise, wet conditions and rough terrain exist. Up to 30% of the work is administrative in nature.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged sitting/standing, lifting objects (up to 50 lbs), extended regular hours, bending, climbing, kneeling, stooping
