Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)
Assists in managing the Day-Ahead/Real-Time commercial power operations of Calpine's west assets; Including interaction with the CAISO for Bid/Offer submission of resources and outage management, Scheduling of assets located within the WECC region. Monitor variables daily including supply/demand, renewable forecasts, weather, and market prices to determine optimal dispatch of Calpine's Power assets. Create and distribute daily/monthly reports updating management on status of RT/DA PnL and track ongoing or upcoming outages. Interface with Gas and Power traders daily, communicating status updates on power assets and any changes impacting daily positions. Work with commercial IT teams to ensure software utilized by real time desk is functioning properly and any appropriate updates are implemented in a timely fashion.
