Description
School Specialty, LLC is seeking a Human Resources Intern to coordinate and support the seasonal recruiting efforts for our Mansfield, Ohio facility. Internship commitment runs from January to September each season. Main responsibilities will be working directly with department managers to staff our fulfillment center and customer care seasonal/limited term positions. This hands-on internship opportunity will provide you with valuable experience in a fast-paced Human Resources environment.

This position is onsite in Mansfield, this is a hourly position with a pay rate of $15 - $16


Summary of Essential Job Functions
  • Source candidates through online, print, high schools, college and other advertising channels
  • Screen Employment Applications/Resumes
  • Schedule Interviews and Coordinate In-House Recruiting Events
  • Administer Pre-Employment Assessments, Coordinate Pre-Employment Drug Tests
  • Extend Employment Offers
  • Document Management
  • Manage and update candidate status within our recruitment system and complete administrative tasks in support of our seasonal hiring activities
  • Provide HR team with weekly staffing updates and perform other duties/projects as assigned

Qualifications include:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Current student, pursuing a degree in Human Resources (prior recruitment experience a plus)
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in fast-paced work environment and possess attention to detail
  • Desire to work independently and with confidential material
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to speak in front of a group and lead discussions with management
  • Available to work 1-3 Saturday mornings during the months of April to June for open houses/recruiting events
  • Other duties as assigned
